Samsung has revealed new details regarding its new Gear S2 smartwatch. According to Samsung, the 11.4 mm smartwatch will run the Tizen operating system. Additionally, the smartwatch will come with a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED 360-by-360 display.
Samsung further revealed that the smartwatch will feature a dual-core 1 GHz processor, 4 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM. Samsung has claimed that the device will also feature a 2-3 day battery life with its 250mAh Li-ion battery.
Two versions will be available: the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic. The Gear S2 supports Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth; however, users can also choose the Gear S2 with 3G connectivity, which incorporates what Samsung describes as “the first-ever e-SIM with voice capability.”
The Gear S2, Gear S2 Classic, and Gear S2 3G will be launching in the near future. There’s currently no word on pricing yet for the African market.
